Chen, Hui-Liang
Hui-Liang has more than twenty-eight years of experience in sales, marketing, business development and general management of technology products, solutions & services and leads the Singapore office. He has worked with various multi-national corporations, each leaders in their respective industries and also started two businesses. He has a depth of experience in building service practices, enabling organizations to provide value-based connections with their clients. Along with strategic thinking and planning, he has successfully built teams and led organizations in tapping market opportunities and built foundations for sustained growth.
He provides advisory and business consulting services to Asia-based entrepreneurs and entrepreneurially-inclined executives to position and grow their businesses – nationally and regionally. Combining extensive corporate exposure and business building skills, he blends best practices with street-smarts to help organizations maximize results.
When Hui-Liang was Director at Cisco Systems, he had responsibility for the services business in South Asia and for the telecommunications sector (Asia Pacific). His region emerged as the top performer for Asia Pacific, having achieved 130% of target, 75% year-on-year growth, with increased market penetration and renewal rates.
He was Managing Director (South Asia) for BMC Software, and has consistently achieved revenue and P&L objectives. For several years, he initiated and brought together senior executives around the region for an annual Executive Exchange. This well-embraced Forum, addressed changing trends and promoted dynamic peer-to-peer interactions.
At Electronic Data Systems, he trail-blazed new markets and put on record, closure of a US$40 million deal – then, the largest in Asia Pacific. A joint-venture entity was also formed, to deliver on the contracted services, where he further contributed as a Board Member. More than 300 employees were transitioned to the newly-formed organization.
He has strong track records with other major corporations such as Apple, IBM and Xerox. In addition to his large corporate experience, he started and grew two successful businesses, one an executive search firm and another in business consulting.
Hui-Liang holds a Master of Science (International Marketing) from the University of Strathclyde (UK). He, together with his wife and daughter, live in Singapore. He enjoys golf and spends periodic golf week-ends around the region. He also appreciates musical performances and art pieces.
